Tall Poppy Syndrome

On November 16, 2010, in guerrilla job hunting, by David Perry aka The Rogue Recruiter

Let me be absolutely clear – it ain't bragging if it's the truth.

Kevin Donlin and I just wrapped up a talk in Philadelphia, "Job Search Secrets Revealed" and it's clear to me from some of the Q and A that many job hunters don't understand how to talk about their accomplishments.

Perhaps it's to be expected from the town that gave us "Rocky" with his selflessly matter of fact manner.
Whatever the reason you need to understand that in a world of vanilla "candidates" employers are looking for "chocolate swirl with sprinkles". Please, give them what they want.

A big thank you to Cindy for organizing the event.
